CCNY invites emerging photographers living in New York City to apply annually for the Darkroom Residency Program. This residency offers local photographers much-needed workspace in New York City as well as access to the CCNY community and programs.
Each year, a three-person jury selects four artists for the residency program. The jury, which this year included independent curator Tracy Adler, artist Deana Lawson, and CCNY Board member and artist Lucas Thorpe, was very impressed by the quality and diversity of the almost 200 submissions, and the final choice was very competitive.
