2009 National Juried Competition

Laura Swanson is an artist based in Providence, Rhode Island. She was born and raised in Minneapolis. She is an MFA candidate in Photography at the Rhode Island School of Design and received her BFA in Design & Technology from the San Francisco Art Institute. In 2008, she was awarded the John Renna Art Scholarship from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Her work has been exhibited within the United States at the RISD Museum of Art, the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery and the Katherine E. Nash Gallery at the University of Minnesota, and internationally at the Media Arts Gallery in Warsaw, Poland and the KyungHee University Museum of Art in Seoul, South Korea.
