Samuel H. Gottscho (1875–1971) American architectural, landscape, and nature photographer. His photographs appeared in American Architect, Architecture, Architectural Record, and regularly in The New York Times. In 1967, his botanical work won him the New York Botanical Garden‘s Distinguished Service Medal. Approximately 29,000 of his images are held in the Gottscho–Schleisner collection at the Library of Congress. In 2005 the Musuem of the City of New York (which holds over 40,000 of his images) exhibited his work in ”The Mythic City: Photographs of New York.“
