Marissa Herrmann, b:1986 New Jersey native, currently living in Brooklyn, New York with two cats, a ghost, and a boyfriend of two years (most likely due to Stockholm Syndrome). Her work is the result of very personal, intimate moments she deems visually interesting. Her aesthetic vision is derived from an absurd, somewhat dark and sardonic sense of humor as well as a child–like imagination. These characteristics of her work are imbued by a modern romanticism that is at once beautiful and unnerving and is commonly found in the work of female artists of this generation.
At the moment, she is working with several artists, as a contributor, model or both on conceptual projects regarding identity and gender roles.
