Eric Weeks Eric Weeks‘ series of photographs of his wife, World Was in the Face of the Beloved, was recently exhibited at Wave Photo Gallery in Brescia, Italy and Pablo‘s Birthday in New York. A monograph, awarded by Photo District News as ”One of the Best Photo Books of 2007“‚ was published in conjunction with the New York City exhibition. Weeks received a MFA from Yale University in 1994, and a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in 1987. Eric‘s photographs have been exhibited internationally, and are represented in the permanent collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The Art Institute of Chicago, The Museum of Contemporary Photography, Maison Européene de la Photographie and the Sir Elton John Collection, among others. He received an Individual Creative Artists Fellowship Grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts for 2007. Eric was recently a Visiting Studio Faculty member at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. An exhibition of his work, in conjunction with this appointment, was shown at the Hopkins Center for the Arts at Dartmouth in January of 2009. In 2007, he taught a weeklong workshop at Academia de Artes Visuales in Mexico City. Eric currently teaches at the School of Visual Arts, Hunter College and the International Center of Photography in New York City. He is also an advisory board member of the Tierney Fellowship. Eric will have a solo exhibition of his photographs at EDS Galeria in Mexico City and a two–person exhibition at Pablo‘s Birthday, New York in the fall of 2009.
