Brett Bell was born in Sullivan, Missouri, and now lives in Brooklyn, NY. The image Boy on the Corner is from a series of photographs that is part autobiographical and also representative and iconic of 'freak' kids in small towns everywhere. The series looks almost like film stills for a film that doesn't exist, but could be something like Hairspray meets The Outsiders meets Mysterious Skin.
